On A Quiet Night
by Cheap Street Gallery
"On A Quiet Night," is a contemporary, adult fiction novel. It's the story of Peta Taylor. On a Friday night, she and her best friend, Sooz have a little party at Peta's, listening to the music of one of their favorite bands, "Live Amp," from the '90s. After Sooz goes home at 2 am., Peta decides to pull up more music from Live Amp on her laptop. She settles back on her sunroom lounger to listen, falling asleep while a video from 1992 is playing. Peta also has a gift she's not really aware of. When she feels love and gratitude, she emanates energy through her hands and into her heart. On this night, the energy is so immense, it expands to a flash of pure energy, and the sleeping Peta disappears from her lounger. When she wakes up, she's back in 1992, and she's standing front row at the concert from her video. Peta is also, twenty-nine again. What follows is the tale of bending space and time to live an experience from a dream that lasts for three days. The lives of six main characters are explored as the story goes back into the past and forward through present day. The story is funny, sad, compelling and begs the question, "What if we could go back in time to a past age, and have an experience with different people in different circumstances?"
